Friends Seek Help
From Alex’s Grill & Ice Cream
For Big “Door Opening” February Fundraiser |
Friends
are beginning fundraising efforts to help support the installation of handicap
doors inside and outside of the Lewisville library.
The local restaurant Alex’s Grill and Ice Cream has offered to
give back to the Friends a percentage of income from Friends
supporters’ sales during the month of February.
For the
entire month FREE tickets will be available at the Lewisville
Library and from board members to use when dining at Alex’s Grill and Ice
Cream. Simply turn in your ticket with your meal check and Alex’s will record
the sale on the ticket.
At the end of
February, Friends will receive 10% of all food purchases from the tickets
collected. The tickets can be used
with any meals IN the restaurant: breakfast, lunch or dinner.
Past President
Dottie Sayers started working on finding a way to get handicapped doors
installed for the Lewisville Library in 2011.
After requests to the Central Library, electricians and contractors have
been contacted and measurements taken.
However, cost of the plans are not yet calculated and the project has not
been officially approved.
This is an
important project for the Friends as well as the community of Lewisville.
Please help ‘open the doors’ of the Lewisville Library by opening your
car door and driving to Alex’s Grill and Ice Cream for breakfast, lunch or
dinner.
Thank you for your support and please thank Alex’s Grill and Ice Cream!!
The Friends would like to Thank Wells Fargo Bank for nominating the Friends of
the Lewisville Library for a $1000 Grant.
The Grant money is being allocated for use on the new doors also.
