Programs for Children and Youth

Books come alive at the Lewisville Library the last Saturday of every month. Every session starts at 10:30 a.m. with a two minute “actor’s warm-up”, followed by reading the selected book of the month. Then kids get on their feet and learn by doing. K - 3rd graders will enjoy this interactive program.

July 12---11 am "Make a Splash in the Past" with
Fli-Rite Learning
Fli-Rite Learning will be here with a look at people who have 'made a splash' in
the history of the Southeast. Using children's literature along with period
games, magic, music, and costumes, children learn about the impact individuals
have had on history. Themes covered in the program include inventions, civil
rights, book and peace awards, the colonial era, flight, exploration, politics,
the Civil War, and leadership all to get the children to consider how they can
make a splash in history. This program is funded by Friends.
July 12---2:30 pm Principles of Magic for Teens

hour-long, intensive workshop in the seven principles of magic at which
middle-school and high-school aged children will learn, make and perform some of
the basic magic tricks that are the foundation of the secrets of magic. This
program is funded by Friends.
